A conference for people who build the web
WebDevConf started in 2007 as a student event while I was at university. It's run every year since, and it's grown beyond pure development: speakers now come from across design, development and the wider web industry, and they're not always developers.
The web industry runs on people sharing what they've learnt. WDC is my way of putting something back: a day for people to learn, share, and meet others doing the same work.

Where the money goes
Running a conference isn't the money-spinner people sometimes imagine. Tickets are priced to cover the costs of the event, and I've written up where the money comes from and where it goes: ticket sales and sponsorship in, and speakers, venue, staging, printing and the rest out.
