Senior advice and training when you need it
Code audits, architecture reviews and a way forward for projects in trouble. Plus training workshops so your team can look after what's built.
All servicesWhen to get a second opinion
Sometimes you don’t need a developer to build something, you need one to tell you where you stand. Perhaps you’ve inherited a site from another agency, a project has stalled, or you’re about to commit to a big build and want to be sure the plan is sound.
I’ll look at the code and how it’s put together, and give you a straight answer: what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do about it.
Code audits and architecture reviews
An audit covers the things that matter most: security, performance, how easy the code is to maintain and how well it will cope as you grow. You get a clear report with the problems ranked by importance, so you know what to fix first, whether I do the work or someone else does.
Rescuing projects
If a project has gone wrong, I can take it over. I’ll audit what’s there, agree a plan to get it back on track and then build it, with Laravel, WordPress or whatever the project runs on.
Training
Every client gets training on what I build, so your team can use it with confidence. I also run workshops for developers, content editors and anyone else who needs them, planned around what your team needs to learn.
I’ve also run WebDevConf, a conference in Bristol for people who build the web, every year since 2007, so sharing what I know is nothing new.
Working with agencies
Agencies use me for technical advice as well as development: scoping projects, choosing platforms, reviewing work and helping their teams. If you need a senior developer to talk things through with, I’m happy to help.
